The War on Weeds ends
When cows begin to eat them.
Foe becomes forage.
Since 2004 I’ve been looking at weeds and cows from a different perspective. Weeds can be very nutritious and resilient forage, and cows can be our partners in managing them. In this blog you’ll find more about my projects, answers to questions about working with cows, and “weed recipes” that will let you look at them in a new way too.
My business is named “Livestock for Landscapes” because I think that livestock should be a tool to help us manage and improve our landscapes so that we can be more profitable. Visit the site to learn more about:
- Using goats for vegetation management
- Teaching cows to eat weeds
- Find out what’s edible and what’s not.
I offer a book, DVDs and a CD handbook to help you learn more. I also speak at conferences and workshops, and offer training for you and/or your future weed-eating cows.
